Forming a Dream Team

“Nerd? Isn’t this stuff for women?” is the IBM Foundation’s project resulting from a collaboration between IBM Italy and the Department of Computer Science at La Sapienza University of Rome.
With the goal of introducing girls to computer science and programming, an all-female Dream Team was born in Giffoni.
The Dreamers, very young, from all over the world, with a big head and a big heart, accepted and won the double challenge set by IBM: an innovative and cultural challenge.
The implementation of this project was only a means to achieve the goal, which is to dispel the myth of computing belonging to humans.
The project realized by the IBM Dream Team was the programming of a chatbot called Griffy 2.0, the digital version of the Giffoni Film Festival mascot.
The chatbot was trained by the girls to answer questions, both general and specific, from a user on the Giffoni Film Festival website looking for information about the event and made available for the 2020 edition of Giffoni Experience
