Giffoni Village gets smart: Poste Italiane teaches kids robotics and gaming in the name of Giffoni Innovation Hub
Digital adventures for under-13s during the Giffoni Experience thanks to Digital Labs, curated by Poste Italiane, for Next Generation, the Giffoni Innovation Hub‘s kids’ innovation showcase. Giffoni Village comes alive with multimedia and interactive workshops aimed at children and young people ages 6 to 13.
Lots of activities: ranging from coding to gaming, augmented and virtual reality to robotics. “Codemotionkids,” is the name of the project that brings children closer to the world of technology. “Our workshops have a child-friendly technological footprint,” explains Poste Italiane staff. “This is how we enable young children to approach the world of technology in a playful and interesting way thanks to state-of-the-art media and state-of-the-art equipment. Among the planned insights we will teach how to make an app and a real robot using the virtual programming language Scratch. The children have a lot of fun, they respond well, and it’s a rewarding satisfaction.”.
The purpose of the innovative project allows the youngest children to take, in the best way possible, their first steps in robotic programming, conscious use of the web, encouraging new ways of learning and approach to digital in all its forms. “I had so much fun today,” explains the little Antonio, one of the children participating in the workshops. “I came here with my cousins but it was an opportunity to meet other children as well.” “The workshops organized by Poste Italiane are really beautiful, ” adds Magdalene while attending the meeting – I was able to create robots, and that was a lot of fun for me.”
The project was realized inside Giffoni Village during the Next Generation event at the Giffoni Film Festival.
It has gained great media prominence and coverage in print and online media outlets.
